Cornhill’s WIOF African Performance Fund has been named best African equity fund on the Czech and Slovak markets.

The fund, which invests in markets across the African continent, was ranked top in the African equity category for 2015 by the European Investment Centre (EIC) – a major brokerage firm in the region - beating funds from global fund houses such as Franklin Templeton.

Despite 2015 being what EIC described as a “turbulent year” for markets, the group awarded the WIOF African Performance Fund four stars – the best performance in its category.

Examining 1,071 rated funds linked to 768 portfolios and managed by 37 domestic and foreign investment management companies, EIC uses CAPM (Capital Assets Pricing Model) methodology to rank funds, evaluating risk and return for each fund against peers.
